New cast steel cylinders like original model. For this kit you need to adjust the crankcase and cylinder heads, you can use the standard 2CV cooling panels.
The kit includes:
- 2 new cast steel cylinders ø81mm
- 2 new forged pistons 720cc
- new piston rings
- gudgeon pins
- Engine seal set 2CV4/6 without crankshaft oil seals
- Jets for Solex carburettor
You can download the installation manual, the manual is the same as for the (previous) aluminium cylinders.
Advantages:
- modified sleeve thickness, for sufficient cooling
- new cylinder, made out of 1 full cast bar.
- as reliable as the original 2CV6 cylinders
- short period to run-in the engine
There are a lot of 2CV lovers who wish to get that extra bit of power out of their engine. There are different solutions to get to that result. The most popular solution on the market is the BigBore Kit. We don’t recommend this for the following reasons:
- All old steel cylinders have a material strain, if you drill these cylinders and heat them again, the cylinder sleeve will torse back to its old shape.
- If you bore the cylinders from 74mm to 81mm, the thickness of the sleeve gets too thin for the alloy.
- When the sleeve gets too thin, there’s not enough cooling.

- A solution that fits to the 2CV Crankcase (which is stronger than the VISA-crankcase)
