When you drive offroad often, you put a lot of pressure on the supsension arms. By welding these reinforcements on the arms, the pressure is distributed much better. The holes serve 2 purposes: less weight and you will get rid of the mud and sand.
As recommended in the book 'Ici commence l'aventure'.
The pieces are in steel, so might have a few 'rust spots'. We cannot treat them because you still need to be able to weld them.
